Assumptions and Limits
The input is a civil date with no time or timezone. Without the checkbox it is converted as a daytime date; selecting “after sunset” advances the Hebrew date by one day. The upcoming-results cutoff uses the current civil date in Jerusalem. Communities may follow a different ruling for special Adar or variable-month cases.

How is a yahrzeit calculated?
The tool converts the date of passing to a Hebrew date and applies Hebcal's Calendrical Calculations yahrzeit algorithm, including 30 Cheshvan, 30 Kislev, and leap-year Adar cases. Ask a halachic authority about a personal custom or uncertain case.
What if the passing was after sunset?
Select the checkbox only after checking sunset at the place of passing. It advances the Hebrew date by one day; the calculator itself does not know the place, time, or timezone and does not verify sunset.
Does the calculator give a memorial-candle time?
No. It returns dates only. The yahrzeit begins at local sunset on the prior evening, but this page does not calculate sunset or determine candle-lighting practice.
