Sources, licenses, and attribution

A source platform is not a blanket content license. Madreiga must respect the license attached to each text version, translation, dataset, and software package.

Sefaria

  • Text, translation, catalog, topic, and link metadata are obtained through the Sefaria APIs. Sefaria does not endorse Madreiga.
  • Each Sefaria version has its own license. Madreiga displays cached text only when the version reports a recognized license that permits commercial display; unknown, missing, and NonCommercial licenses are blocked. Version title, source link, language, and reported license remain attached to reader data where the API supplies them.
  • Attribution and ShareAlike duties continue to apply to CC BY and CC BY-SA versions. Open the Sefaria source link shown in the reader for version-specific credits and terms.

Hebcal

  • Jewish calendar, parasha, holiday, and zmanim calculations use Hebcal libraries. Hebcal is a trademark of Michael J. Radwin.
  • Installed packages at this update: @hebcal/core 6.8.2 and @hebcal/hdate 0.22.5 (GPL-2.0); @hebcal/leyning 9.5.6 and @hebcal/triennial 6.3.0 (BSD-2-Clause). Copyright and license notices are included with the installed packages.

Madreiga and reports

Unless expressly licensed on a page, Madreiga's original product copy, design, and brand assets are reserved. To report missing attribution, a license conflict, or a copyright concern, email support@madreiga.com. Include the URL, source reference, version title, and the right or license involved.
